Forgotten Clefs: Reformation Reboot

  • Trinity Episcopal Church | Bloomington, IN (map)

Live Music Returns! Reformation Reboot highlights the 500th anniversary of the Diet of Worms with a new program of music from the sixteenth century.

During the Diet of Worms, Martin Luther affirmed his revolutionary ideas including community involvement in religious services, direct worship, and use of the vernacular language (German rather than Latin). This was the beginning of non-clergy and church staff becoming involved in congregational singing, a forerunner to modern professional and amateur choirs. In this fascinating new program, the renowned wind ensemble Forgotten Clefs explores music from this inclusive tradition including works by Ludwig Senfl, Heinrich Isaac, and Thomas Stoltzer.
